Witcher 3 Next-Gen Update – We will all eventually have to acknowledge that 2015 was eight years ago. It feels like I was just a high school student last week, but maybe I’m just getting older (cue my 30-something editor’s gasp).

The fact that I’m still playing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt doesn’t help matters either, since even though it makes a few modest improvements, the game still has the impression of being stuck at a time when the Middle East crisis was the most significant event in the globe.

Let me explain if you haven’t played Witcher 3 Next-Gen Update – for any reason. The film is essentially an edgy Lord of the Rings, and it received more prizes in 2022 than a Ukrainian politician did.
A lot of killing is required in this immaculately polished role-playing game in order to save the world or something. It is also ridiculously violent and excessively dark. Because CD Projekt Red regularly issued free upgrades to what was already a fantasy fan’s wet dream when it first launched in 2015, it also made that company one of the most adored businesses ever. The issue with The Witcher 3 Next-Gen Update, though, is that a lot of time has passed since its debut, and with it, a lot of other fantastic open-world games. While the third-person melee genre’s standard isn’t exactly high and the game’s graphic aspects will always be regarded as lovely poggers, the whole Wild Hunt experience isn’t as outstanding as it once was. It therefore aims to address these issues in the following generation update and does so reasonably.

Witcher 3 Next-Gen Update – The greatest adjustments it makes are in the realm of graphics. On PC, there are now even more options to overheat your GPU and produce stunning images, and the game appears even better on consoles than it did previously (and can now be ran at a constant 60FPS).
The new settings are a wonderful addition to a game that already looked beautiful when it was published, even though the update isn’t anything close to a complete remaster. The computer I played it on (which, coincidentally, was created to run the base game back when my parents paid for my stuff) bricked until I turned off nearly every new setting, so it should be emphasised that it does demand a super hefty machine to utilise any of these features on computers. Naturally, console players shouldn’t have this problem, so it’s good to be able to expertly tailor your visual experience regardless of platform.

Additionally, thanks to mods that are now pre-packaged with the Witcher 3 Next-Gen Update, there are a few minor gameplay enhancements that, like the aesthetic update, don’t make or break the game but are nonetheless entertaining to have. The map navigation and inventory management are now a little bit simpler, and there is some new gear to find. But aside from that, there isn’t much more to say.

The question of whether the upgrade justifies a repeat of the 80-hour experience can be considered to be one that’s on everyone’s mind. Nothing in the Next Gen Update will persuade you in either direction if you’re searching for a reason to launch the game or even pick it up for the first time.
To nobody’s surprise, the game is still The Witcher 3—for better or worse. Although a little dated in comparison to games like God of War: Ragnarok, it still has fantastic gameplay, a highly drawn-out but nonetheless fascinating story, and amazing vistas.
Witcher 3 Next-Gen Update is therefore just that—an update. There isn’t much else to it, however the additional features it adds are decent and the faults it fixes won’t be missed.
The Witcher 3 Next-Gen Update is still among the best RPGs available, and it deserves to be at the top of virtually all gaming-related lists. Both those who are seeking for a reason to pick it up again and those who haven’t made up their minds yet won’t find one in this update. But once the world as a whole finds something better to care about in the future, these new features will undoubtedly help it age a lot better than the absolutely pointless Assassin’s Creed III remake.
In conclusion, despite the fact that The Witcher 3 Next-Gen Update isn’t a very remarkable update, the base game is so excellent that the little additions it makes are more than welcome.
