The Witcher 3 Current-Gen Update – On December 14, The Witcher 3 current-gen update will be released, and we’re learning more about the additions and changes CD Projekt Red made. There are other major and minor additions that will come with this upgrade, and it turns out one of them comes in the form of the wrinkled Nilfgaardian armour that everyone hated, from Netflix’s TV show adaptation. The most fundamental difference is the ability to toggle between Performance and Quality mode, a photo mode, and the usual quality of life upgrades.

Although the Nilfgaardian army was already frightening enough on its own, the producers of The Witcher opted to highlight that by giving it an armour design that, as noted by Eurogamer, many viewers thought was similar to a ballsack.

AniGaming Nation tweeted, “The thing you hated from The Witcher Netflix show is coming to the game,” The Witcher 3 current-gen upgrade will include the wrinkly, repulsive Nilfgaard armour from the Netflix series The Witcher. The accompanying photograph clearly depicts what appears to be a Nilfgaardian soldier donning the same wrinkled black armour from the TV show.

Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich stated in an interview that this was done in The Witcher 3 Current-Gen Update to distinguish between the armies of Nilfgaard and Cintra back when the armour was first displayed and audiences made fun of it. “The armour had to appear to have been hurriedly picked up, put on, and then put back on. It’s not intended to appear exactly like regular armour.”
