The Teen Wolf Movie: Hikari Makes Kira’s Absence Worse.
Arden Cho’s absence is made worse by the fact that Hikari, a brand-new character introduced in Teen Wolf: The Movie, clearly replaces Kira.
The McCall Pack has new members in Teen Wolf: The Movie, but Hikari Zhang’s introduction in particular makes Kira Yukimura’s (Arden Cho) absence harder. After the Nogitsune return to Beacon Hill, Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) is reassembling his pack to revive the franchise; this danger is made worse by Allison Argent’s inexplicable resuscitation (Crystal Reed). The Teen Wolf movie, which serves as a reunion undertaking for the MTV programme, also introduces several fresh faces, among them Hikari Zhang (Amy Lin Workman). She is a welcome addition to the McCall Pack, but Kira’s confusing absence is made harder by her presence.

The MTV series saw a considerable number of character exits over its six-season run. Crystal Reed’s determination to pursue a career in showbiz led to Allison’s demise in Teen Wolf season 3. Colton Hayes and Tyler Hoechlin both had the same justification for leaving. Arden Cho’s circumstance, however, was unique because no formal justification for Kira’s exit from the series was given. However, it is widely accepted that Arden Cho did not choose to leave Teen Wolf.
Hikari is more comparable to a Kira replacement than a fresh Teen Wolf face.
It seems sense that Paramount+ would want to bring fresh characters to the property in order to breathe new life into it given the significant gap in time between the Teen Wolf television series and its movie sequel. Having said that, Hikari’s appearance appears to be an effort to make up for Kira’s absence in Teen Wolf: The Movie, unlike Eli, Derek’s kid, who plays a significant role in his father’s tale and may end up becoming the future face of the franchise. The characters not only have backgrounds with Kitsunes but also have the same function in the story. Beyond her similarities to Kira, Hikari’s persona wasn’t established in the Paramount+ concept.

The fact that Cho was invited to return as the Thunder Kitsune in Teen Wolf: The Movie only serves to make things worse. She rejected nevertheless, citing problems with wage equity. This implies that the Paramount+ reunion project had intentions to include Kira in the narrative from the beginning, and that when they couldn’t obtain her, they created a whole new character that was based on her.

The opportunity presented by Teen Wolf: The Movie would have been ideal for addressing Kira’s uncertain future. But because Cho declined the part, Kira’s character journey is still an unresolved plot point.
How Hikari Had A Major Role In The Resolution Of Teen Wolf.
There isn’t much information available about Hikari other than his relationship with Liam Dunbar. She nevertheless plays a significant role in Teen Wolf: The Movie despite this. She was crucial to Scott and the McCall Pack’s successful defence against the Nogitsune. Hikari’s Kitsune shield serves as protection for the Alpha, surprising the bad guy. This enables the heroes to unite and launch a well-planned assault. The Nogitsune were ultimately defeated thanks to Derek’s valiant death. The McCall Pack wouldn’t have had the opportunity to restrain him in the first place without Hikari’s assistance.
