Setting Up The Ultimatum Ending

Erin	Choose to attack Du’Met during the Blackout scene
Charlie	Force the door twice during the Ignition scene
Jamie	Either become trapped in the wall with Du’Met during the Director’s Suite scene chase, or give Kate the screwdriver and crush Jamie in the glass trap

Fortunately, Mark has narrative armour, so his first potential demise doesn’t occur until the very end of the game. Maintaining Kate’s life is also simple because, if she avoids the glass trap, she won’t face any additional dangers until the game’s conclusion.

The Lighthouse Scene

Normally, the victorious Lighthouse scene features Charlie and Erin, but now Mark is alone himself. Investigate the lighthouse up until Mark is attacked by Du’Met, at which point Kate becomes your player character.

As Kate, enter the lighthouse and feel free to discover any previously undiscovered collectible secrets. Send Kate into the side room off the living room when you’re ready to proceed so you may go upstairs. To move forward, interact with the door.

Kate must decide whether to explore the door to determine what is making the bumping noises or assist Mark, who is laying on the floor, in the room.

When given the option, have Kate aid Mark in order to advance with The Devil in Me’s Ultimatum Ending.

You receive the “Award Worthy” achievement for doing so because you accepted Du’Met’s acting.

Kate is knocked unconscious by Du’Met, and the scene changes.

The Ultimatum

In a cage with a window and a phone on opposite walls, Mark awakens. Kate is connected to a hydrochloric acid container when the window opens.

Du’Met gives Mark a video of Joseph Morello and tells him that he must perform the same role as Morello did for your group as a ferryman for Du’Met. Mark is forced to make a decision about how to respond when Kate asks him to call for help. He can either agree to do so or refuse.

The First Decision: Call Or Decline

Make the call	Mark grabs the phone and script, and Du’Met picks up a phone in the surgical room as well.
Decline to participate	Du’Met begins the hydrochloric acid drip, and Kate dies. After Mark watches, Du’Met turns the gas chamber on. Mark dies, fulfilling the Masked photo premonition.

Once on the phone with June Collins, you have the option of pleading for assistance or trying to convince her with Du’Met’s offer.

The Second Decision: Persuade Or Plead

Persuade June	The scene progresses as intended.
Beg for help	Du’Met is also on the line and hears Mark’s pleas. Du’Met kills Kate and Mark the same as above.

Making the decision to invite the family is another accomplishment known as “The Cycle Continues.”

From this point on, everything will be cutscenes if Mark concurs. As directed, Mark leads the following group to the hotel before escaping on the ferry with Kate. After the curator finishes his closing remarks, the camera pans back to Kate and Mark on the ferry.
