How To Complete The Blackout Scene – Erin was recently trapped in a pitch-black room with a mannequin of H. H. Holmes in The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me. Her friends have come to try to rescue her after hearing her scream when the lights went out and trapped her inside.
Erin, however, fears she is not alone in this locked room after spotting a man’s figure in addition to the mannequin. Let us assist you in preventing Erin’s death in this scene from occurring if you want to (or specifically make it happen if you want to – we don’t judge your choices).

Erin bangs on the door that has just closed behind her as the power went out, trapping her in the dark with the mannequin that just startled you earlier in your scene. Her coworkers show up and scramble to evaluate the situation from the other side of the door.
Erin’s initial response can either be instructive (which highlights how timid she is) or upsetting. When she responds a second time, she might be impatient about needing her inhaler or upset once more.
However, the murderer has been keeping an eye on the covert cameras and notices Erin starting to have an asthma attack in the dark. We see him cross back over the desk on his way to take action while holding her inhaler.
Erin’s First Possible Death – Take The Inhaler Or Attack
The killer enters the room through a wall that slides open, trapping Erin within. When this occurs, Erin may be afraid to notify the group that she is not alone in the space (which increases her level of panic) or defensive when addressing the silhouette that is also present.
The murderer extends his hand to Erin, revealing that he is holding her inhaler. If this occurs, you have two options: either take the inhaler or attempt to harm the person who is handing it to you.
The scene develops in a completely different way based on your choice.
If You Take The Inhaler Or Do Nothing
The assailant grabs Erin as she reaches out to take the inhaler and violently pushes her up against the wall. Before releasing her go, dropping the inhaler, and walking away, he shaves a section of her hair.

If she doesn’t take action, the assailant merely drops the inhaler and walks away.
You can choose to use the inhaler here to end this asthma attack as Erin scrambles to find it on the ground.
Just remember that Erin’s inhaler only has a certain number of uses, which is displayed on the inhaler when it’s in your inventory.
Finally, the crew manages to pull the door open, and they reassure an understandably scared Erin. She claims that H. H. Holmes attacked her, but the team argues that the mannequin was the only other “human” in the room with her. Erin departs the scene and retires to her bedroom to sleep.
If You Attack
You have to finish a QTE as soon as you decide to attack the killer. Erin is pushed back away from the killer if you successfully complete this QTE.
After this, there is another QTE that is very similar to the first.
You have the option to forego the second QTE if you’ve changed your mind about attacking the killer.

The assailant will proceed as though you did nothing, dropping the inhaler and making the previously indicated transitions.
If you successfully complete both QTEs, Erin manages to use the sharp end of her microphone to stab the murderer in the shoulder. But it doesn’t stop him; instead, he just takes the gun off his shoulder and shoves Erin up against the wall.
Erin dies instantly when the murderer stabs her.
A few while later, the gang enters the room and is perplexed as to why Erin isn’t present. The group is there at the end of the scene, without Erin.

If Erin dies in this scene, her passing won’t be officially announced until a subsequent scene.
