Cosmos was recreated in Minecraft: Our solar system is a marvel of creation. There is something awe-inspiring about the vastness of our galaxy and the magnitude of our universe. Within this reality, there are many sights to behold. It appears that a genius – perhaps on the level of Einstein and Newton – has managed to put the cosmos inside Minecraft, for us all to marvel at, without the need for a super powerful telescope.
It is an impressive creation and, although it may not represent the entirety of the universe, it certainly appears to be expansive enough. The creator, ChrisDaCow, has created a super cluster (a collection of several galaxies), a super black hole reminiscent of the one in the movie Interstellar, a nebula, our solar system, and of course the Earth itself.

ChrisDaCow’s post on the Minecraft subreddit has also made waves, with over 103,000 upvotes at the time of writing.

The subreddit user ChrisDaCow shared that he used WorldEdit and shaders to build his ‘entire universe’ Minecraft build. WorldEdit is a Minecraft map editor that allows users to place and replace large amounts of blocks at the same time, while shaders were used to color the blocks in.

According to the Minecraft creator, it took around one to two months of “constant work” to complete his project. Nevertheless, ChrisDaCow is not new to this scene, as the creator has nine years of experience in making these kinds of projects, but the tools used can be used by anyone. Shaders are supported and present in the optimization mod known as OptiFine, while the blocks are vanilla Minecraft blocks.

Some special Minecraft creations have been created over the years, including a recreation of Westeros from Game of Thrones in WesterosCraft, a Minecraft building community that has been around for some time, and ChrisDaCow has previously created an impressive rendering of Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night painting.
