The bad batch Season 2

After Order 66, the Empire made its biggest mistake, as shown in Star Wars: The Bad Batch

It becomes clear that the Empire’s foundational years were riddled with problems as The Bad Batch explores them. As the Death Star was being constructed, Palpatine’s core was damaged by the many personalities, politics, and internal conflicts that Andor depicted.

The Bad Batch has emphasized the problem by showing in Season 2 how Crosshair and Vice-Admiral Rampart both lied, allowing Clone Force 99 to sneak around freely.

Given that even the Emperor had problems with Darth Vader, which helped pave the road for their relationship to be betrayed, it is symbolic of what occurs from the top down. Interestingly, a significant mistake is made by the troops when Episode 6, “Tribe,” delves into Imperials starting another genocidal expedition. This may have significantly altered the Empire’s future if it had been handled differently.

The ‘Tribe’ of The Bad Batch Contains a Serious Imperial Error

Omega and the group are assisting Gungi on Kashyyyk while the “Tribe” of the bad batch develops. When they discovered Trandoshans and Imperials were razing the planet, they abandoned their first goal to bring the Wookiee home to find his tribe. They insist that if they are opposed, any kind of life will be put to death because they want its resources. The Trandoshans discover lightsaber markings during the melee and realize that a Jedi Order member is still present.

The Imperials are shocked since they believed that Order 66 had wiped out all of the Jedi. However, the Trandoshan leader rejects the idea when one Imperial soldier suggests alerting the command center. He decides against sending in the communication because he wants to go after the Jedi himself. It’s a terrible mistake, especially as the Wookiees and the Batch fight back and kill all the villains, keeping the planet’s secret alive.

Palpatine would have known his adversaries were still alive if this intelligence had been sent along. Even though there would have been fewer Jedi, he could have intensified the search for Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi. According to the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, Palpatine may have even micromanaged, keeping a closer eye on Vader to make sure he wasn’t being sentimental while seeking his former mentor.

If all these pieces had fallen into place, the Empire could have been able to eliminate the Jedi sooner and perhaps even introduce Palpatine to Luke when he was still a child on Tatooine, where Obi-Wan was keeping watch.

Palpatine may have attracted and trained Luke to turn to the evil side, giving him the apprentice he always desired. Additionally, being aware of the Jedi’s conspiracy with the Wookiees might have helped the Empire find the Batch (The Bad Batch), the Batch’s outliers Rex and Cody, other Rebels, and possibly even Han Solo and Chewbacca.

Even though they themselves are unaware of it, The Batch and Kashyyyk are a part of a larger network. An indicator was all that was required to reduce the Emperor’s ego and make him more proactive. Once Palpatine realized he had a lot more powerful dissidents on his hands, he would have been motivated to act and perhaps establish more avenues to consolidate control.
