The Sewing Machine In Emily And Haley’s House
In Stardew Valley, there are two ways to use a sewing machine. We’ll examine Emily’s first, and then the one you may purchase for your own farm.
You must have at least one piece of clothing in your inventory in order to access this sewing machine. Wool can be woven into cloth using a loom. Check out the processes for obtaining clothing below.
Have a rabbit or sheep on your farm.
These animals occasionally produce wool. Before you can create wool, you must upgrade the highest barn and coop upgrades because both of these animals require them.
Gather the wool.
Create a loom.
The loom recipe, which you can learn once you have reached Farming level 7, requires 60 wood, 30 fibre, and 1 pine tar. Simply set a tapper on a pine tree to collect the pine tar, and you can produce this very easily. The daily farm chores will raise your farming level.
Wait 4 hours.
Collect your Cloth from the Loom!
Once you’ve obtained your cloth, wait until the following morning and leave your farm between 6 and 11 am. Emily will come up to you and start talking about her sewing machine if it is not raining. After the cutscene is through, you can immediately begin using the sewing machine.
The smaller front room of Emily and Haley’s home is where the sewing machine is. No one has to be home for you to use it anytime you want. You may create as many garments as you desire so long as you come when the house is opened between the hours of 9 am and 8 pm.
How To Get Your Own Sewing Machine To Place Anywhere
You can even have your very own sewing machine by placing a special order with Emily.
Emily will send you a sewing machine that you can use on your farm if you complete the order “Rock Rejuvenation.” You’ll need the following supplies to finish this quest. All of these gems can be discovered in the mines to the north of Pelican Town, but in order to make things a little easier for you, we’ve listed the precise location of each linked node.

These gems can also come up at random in the gem nodes that spawn on each floor of the Mines.
You can keep your personal sewing machine wherever in your home or shed and use it whenever you want. If you love to sew garments but don’t want to go to Emily and Haley’s house, it’s a terrific addition to your farm. View this guide for additional details on special orders.
Place a piece of fabric on the left side of the sewing machine to begin sewing. An empty square with the outline of the cloth may be seen above. You should place the cloth in this location.
Then, position a piece on the right, above the power button. This is the sewing machine’s spool, which is where the thread would typically go. A clothes shape will appear on the right panel.
If you’re creating new apparel, a question mark will appear with the item’s outline. You will see a photo of the outfit if you are revealing anything that has already been shown. The machine will start up and give you the clothes when you press the power button.
Build sure to bring extra cloth if you want to make more than one outfit because one piece of cloth will only make one piece of clothes.
In Stardew Valley, there are four main categories of clothing: hats, shirts, pants, and shoes. Only hats, shirts, and pants may be made using the sewing machine.
Since footwear serves as a fighting gear, it cannot be crafted. Stats, however, are transferable between types of footwear. That is covered farther down.
In Stardew Valley, there are numerous clothing options, and most of the garments you create will be shirts. There are many different kinds of distinctive shirts in the game, although many items will produce shirts with the generic name “shirt” and the colour of the item used.
There are a lot less caps and pants. Both of these outfits can be created using a sewing machine and still just need one fabric and one item. The following are examples of pant fashions.
The last category is headwear. There are many different hats, some of which are a little sillier than others. You will frequently receive a regular hat, but for more unusual goods, you will receive a mask. A blobfish attached to a sewing machine, for instance, will result in a blobfish mask.
Clothing Examples
Although you won’t be able to determine the actual design of your outfit before you make it for the majority of items, you can guess the style based on the materials. You can see some samples of clothing that is similar to the item used below.
In general, the exact item will determine the style and type of apparel. Try experimenting once you have enough fabric to see what new clothes you can create. You can just tuck away an article of clothes in a dresser if you don’t like it (which is purchased from Robin).
Visit the official Stardew Wiki for an exhaustive list of all the clothing items in the game.
How To Dye Clothes
Additionally, certain clothing will be dyeable. If you read the description of the clothing, it might say “dyeable.” Add it back to the sewing machine where the fabric would go to colour the item of apparel. The next thing you should do is place something else in the space above the power button.
You can test out a few different dyes from your inventory by looking at the new colour of the outfit in the right panel. Almost anything can be positioned in the top-right position.
To achieve a more intense colour, some garments can be dyed more than once. It could take several attempts to get a red object really crimson on a white shirt.
Using Dye Pots
In addition to the sewing machine, dye pots can also be used to colour clothing. In Emily’s home, these pots are located on the right side of the sewing room.
Only the clothing you are wearing right now can be dyed using dye pots.
When you interact with the pots, a menu showcasing your inventory and six different pots will appear. You will need to put an item in a pot that matches the corresponding colour on the color-coded set of pots. You might put a cherry in the red dye pot as an illustration.
You can modify the colour of an object on the colour slider by filling all six of the dye pots to receive dye.
Each dye pot colour and the acceptable items are listed below. The colour of the dye that can be produced by each item in your inventory is indicated by a little circle.
The last two items are boots and shoes. Despite being unable to make or colour shoes, you can transfer stats between other pairs of shoes using a sewing machine.
For instance, the sneakers will increase your defence by 1, while the Genie shoes will increase both your defence and immunity by 1. This technique allows you to transfer the characteristics of footwear you dislike to footwear you enjoy.
Put the shoes in the upper right square with the desired stats.
Put the object that needs stats in the bottom left square.
The object on the left will receive new stats after the machine is powered on.
Your new shoes will appear to be specially tailored.
