Since Spider-Man: Miles Morales’ PC release earlier this month, the game already has a variety of mods available for download and installation. None of the others, though, are as striking as this reshade, which transforms the game into an Into The Spider-Verse offshoot.
Spider-Man Miles Morales Reshade Mod
The ITSV Reshade mod, made by dontcareeeeee, recreates Spidey’s New York City in the style of Into The Spider-Verse. It is now accessible through Nexus Mods. Since the acclaimed animated film doesn’t have a game of its own, this is at least as near as you can come in video game form. It also makes logical that Miles Morales, the younger version of the web-slinger, was chosen to receive the mod.
Bright interactive billboards and hundreds of lit-up, animated windows across the game’s numerous skyscrapers bring life to what would otherwise be a rather dingy-looking representation of New York City in the original game, especially at night. The reshade may be experienced from any position, as shown in the video below, but from a roof or other high vantage point looking down, you truly get a sense of how it transforms into the Spider-Verse.
Both Marvel’s Spider-Man and Miles Morales have a plethora of mods available, most of which change the protagonist rather than their environment. Instead of just giving Peter a new outfit or changing him back to the original voice actor, it’s encouraging to see reshade take on the challenge of changing the backdrop. Nevertheless, the mod that transforms Spidey into the Gotham Knights’ review rating is quite entertaining.
Since the release of Into The Spider-Verse in theatres almost four years ago, fans have been eagerly awaiting a sequel. The release dates for Across The Spider-Verse and Beyond The Spider-Verse are still 2023 and 2024, respectively. The fact that two movies are being produced simultaneously may be the reason why there hasn’t been a sequel for so long, but there won’t be much of a wait between movies two and three.
