Gunn reportedly said on social media in December that Superman was “a significant focus” in the next DC Universe. He also revealed that Henry Cavill will not be reprising his Man of Steel role because a movie portraying a younger version of the superhero was in the works.

Henry Cavill won’t be playing Superman in the first few episodes because the focus of the tale will be on an earlier period of the character’s existence, he tweeted.
