PS VR2 gets free Gran Turismo 7 upgrade, Beat Saber in development – With existing owners receiving a free upgrade at launch, Gran Turismo 7 will join the long list of popular games coming to PS VR2. This was revealed at Sony’s press conference for CES 2023, which featured a spotlight on the Gran Turismo series as a whole.
When Jim Ryan, president and chief executive officer of Sony Interactive Entertainment, entered the stage to discuss PS VR2, he announced that the system already has 30 games prepared for release next month along with the device. Gran Turismo 7 has already joined the ranks of games like Horizon: Call of the Mountain and Resident Evil Village as one of the most well-known.
Jim Ryan also disclosed that one of the most well-liked VR games for a variety of platforms is now being developed for PS VR2. Although it’s unknown whether the game will debut on February 23 alongside the system itself later this year, Beat Saber will be coming to the system at some point in the future.
If you’re wondering what other games will be available, Sony recently revealed a number of titles created by Japanese creators. One of these games features a remake of the PS2 cult favourite Fantavision, in which you manage brilliant fireworks displays. It appears that PlayStation is making every effort to ensure that there is a decent choice of titles available to try out at launch with all of these games and many more.
In terms of other announcements made at the conference, we also got to see the first trailer for the upcoming Gran Turismo movie, which will be released only in theatres on August 11 of this year. The employment of new technologies to generate game-inspired camera angles, such as those from the grill, inside the cockpit, and slightly over the rear of the car, was also made known.
