What Are Pokemon Go: Technical Machines (TM) For?

The Pokemon you catch in Pokemon Go usually knows two attacks: a Charged Attack and a Fast Attack. The only way to change the attack that a Pokemon knows is by using a TM for that type of attack. You use this item on the Pokemon whose move you wish to modify from your bag.

How To Use Pokemon Go: Technical Machines (TM)
TMs can be used in two ways.
The first step is to locate the Pokemon whose move you would like to change, then tab the menu, then your Items, and then the appropriate TM.
Another method is to go to your inventory and tap on the TM. You will be able to choose from a list of Pokemon whose move you wish to modify.
Which Pokemon Should You Use Technical Machines (TM) On?

As everyone has different Pokemon collections and gameplay styles, it is difficult for us to provide specific advice on which Pokemon should receive new moves. The following are a few things that you should be aware of before making your decision.

In general, we recommend that you use TMs on Pokemon with high CPs that you often use in raids or the Go Battle League. Also, it is advisable to check their current move set as well as whether they know any Legacy moves.
There are some moves that are simply bad on all fronts, however, there are two categories of good moves:
- Attacks that are good for PvP
- Attacks that are good for Raids and Gym battles
Consider what you intend to use the Pokemon for, and then research which of the Pokemon’s moves are appropriate for your intended use.
