Pokemon Go Lucky Pokemon: Even after many years, Pokemon Go continues to be a beloved alternative reality (AR) game around the world. It allows you to do all of your favorite Pokemon activities, such as trading, battling other trainers, defeating Team Rocket, and catching Pokemon.
However, there is one phenomenon that is unique to Pokemon Go: Lucky Pokemon! As you read this guide, you will gain a greater understanding of what these special Pokemon are and how you can use them to advance your team to the next level.
Why Lucky Pokemon Are So Good in Pokemon Go
The summary of lucky Pokemon is marked by a shimmer effect and a small note under their name.
They are highly regarded by trainers throughout the world because they guarantee really good stats and cost half as much stardust to power up. This makes it much easier to increase a Pokemon’s CP, especially for Legendary and Mythical Pokemon. There are some trainers who do not bother to power up Pokemon who are not lucky at all!
How To Get Lucky Pokemon In Pokemon Go
The lucky Pokemon can be obtained by trading Pokemon with friends. When you make a trade, there is a small chance that you will receive a Lucky Pokemon. As with regular trades, Lucky Trades cost the same amount of stardust; you will only be aware of the trade once you see the summary for the Pokemon you received. Both players involved in a Lucky Trade receive Lucky Pokemon.
Your Chances Of Getting A Lucky Pokemon In Pokemon GO
If you have owned the Pokemon for a long time, you are more likely to earn a Lucky. Although Niantic has not confirmed the odds, these are what players have observed:
|Time You Caught The Pokemon||Odds Of Getting A Lucky Trade|
|Less Than 1 Year Ago||5 percent|
|Between 1 And 2 Years Ago||10 percent|
|More Than 2 Years Ago||25 percent|
How To Get A Guaranteed Lucky Pokemon In Pokemon GO
You can obtain a guaranteed Lucky Pokemon in two ways.
The first method involves a phenomenon known as Lucky Friends. When you are Lucky Friends with another trainer, your next trade with them is guaranteed to result in a Lucky Pokemon.
To become Lucky Friends, you must first reach the Best Friends level. Upon reaching the Best Friends level, there is a possibility that you will become Lucky Friends with them. In this case, there is a possibility that you will become Lucky Friends each time you interact with your Best Friend in a manner that would normally increase your Friendship level (e.g. raids, opening gifts, etc.). Although the chance is very small, you should at least get one or two Lucky Friends each time you interact with your Best Friend. It is possible to become Lucky Friends with the same player more than once.
The second method involves trading any Pokemon caught in July or August 2016. Pokemon Go was only available during these months, so you had to have literally kept Pokemon around since you first played the game. It was part of Niantic’s attempt to encourage players to return to the game after a long absence.
A few asterisks accompany this special treat, as if having such an old Pokemon wasn’t bad enough. As a first requirement, the trainer who is trading the Pokemon from July or August 2016 cannot have been involved in ten or more guaranteed trades using this method, regardless of whether they were given or received the Pokemon. The second limitation is that it can only be used once per pair of trainers. It is likely that the second Pokemon will have been subjected to the same odds as any other trade and may not necessarily be lucky. Person B, however, can still employ this guaranteed method with Person C and be successful.
