PLAYTESTS FOR SIMS 5 begin on October 25

PLAYTESTS FOR SIMS 5 : Recent reports indicate that playtesting for The Sims 5 could begin as early as next week. As revealed in a leaked email and promotional images, the game, which is still officially known as Project Rene, will be released to playtesters on October 25, 2022.

The news was first reported by Insider Gaming. The reports have been confirmed by sources currently employed by the publisher, Electronic Arts.

You are invited to participate in the playtest! “The Maxis team has been hard at work developing new innovations for The Sims,” the email reads. We would like to invite you to take part in a pre-alpha test for Project Rene. We’re looking to make this the best experience possible and we can’t wait to get your feedback and hear what you think.”

PLAYTESTS FOR SIMS 5 : In the leaked email, some of the new features of Project Rene are described. The primary focus of this playtest will be our new object customization tool, currently called ‘Workshop.’ This tool is designed to allow you to customize objects to decorate an apartment,” potential playtesters were informed. We encourage you to share your creations and to download those made by other players. To experience everything this playtest has to offer, remember that you may play with your friends! ”

PLAYTESTS FOR SIMS 5 : Apparently, this call for playtesters was never intended to be fully public. We encourage you to join sessions with your friends and/or to join the private playtest Discord to make new friends. If you are a trusted member of Community Playtesting, you may invite up to three friends to participate in this playtest.

Project Rene was announced by Electronic Arts earlier this month, with Vice President and Franchise Creative Lyndsay Pearson stating that “we are building a next generation Sims game and creative platform.” The executive further described how the company will be “reimagining The Sims you know and love with new ways to play.” In addition to charming Sims, powerful tools, and meaningful stories, this is the future of The Sims.”
