Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden : Atlus has announced that both Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden will be launching on “modern platforms” on the same day, January 19, a week and a half before Persona 5 Royal officially launches on Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
Persona fans finally received what they had been asking for for years – ports of Persona 3, Persona 4, and Persona 5. Persona 5 Royal was the only port given a date for some reason when the ports were announced, with the others promised in the future.

According to a Tweet from Atlus, Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden will be released on January 19. There has been no new footage of the ports released by Atlus so far, only an image displaying both logos side by side, but at least we now know when we can expect to be able to play the rest of Persona on modern consoles. Except for the first two.
Persona 3 and Persona 4 are being released simultaneously. The initial trailer suggested a more spaced-out release, but it appears to be just to make room for Persona 5 Royal.
Atlus’ decision to provide the release dates in such a straightforward manner is good news, but it is somewhat odd. In late November, it was announced that there would be no game announcements during the Persona 25th anniversary concert, breaking a long-standing tradition.
The release date of these ports is after that concert, so it may have been possible to keep the tradition alive just by revealing the release date for both. The announcement of a new game wouldn’t be as impactful as in previous anniversary concerts, but it is strange to see it repeated twice in a row.
