Why were GTA Devs not Sure about the Game?
Grand Theft Auto received the most votes as the game least likely to succeed. This is a result of the game’s unclear direction throughout production. It was also really glitchy; you couldn’t play it for more than a few minutes before it crashed, according to Macdonald. The crew behind the first game was relieved that it was finished when Macdonald joined DMA, he continued, so they could “get shot of it.” Macdonald would later serve as a producer for GTA 2.
The alterations made during the three and half years it took to construct the original GTA were the main cause of its problematic development. The issues and crashing noted above were caused by the fact that the code initially built for the game wasn’t being used as intended. But when Macdonald and other DMA workers observed staff members playing GTA during breaks, they realised they had something special. After 25 years, GTA 5 has sold more than 170 million copies, and GTA 6 is in development and might potentially bring down the internet when it finally releases.
