Obsidian Head Confirms Interest in Another Fallout Game – But Not Right Now” – Possibly the most adored game in the franchise is Fallout New Vegas, which was created by Obsidian. Obsidian, which is made composed of the creators of the first two Fallout games, was logically brought back for a fourth instalment after the third game brought the series back to prominence. The only issue is that it was so amazing that many of us want another one; Feargus Urquhart, the head of Obsidian, is well aware of this.

Sadly, Urquhart stated in a recent interview that Obisidian is not currently working on a new Fallout game. This is mostly because the company already has a number of other projects in development. He does, however, once more state publicly that he would “love” to create one more game in the series before he retires, making it very clear that the studio will create another if given the chance.
If another Fallout game made by Obsidian is possible, Urquhart was questioned in an interview with Game Pressure (thanks, GamesRadar).
“We’re not working on it right now, our plate is pretty full with Avowed, Grounded and Outer Worlds 2,” replies Urquhart, making it clear that we shouldn’t expect an announcement anytime soon. “We just have to see what’s going on. That’s the best way to say it.”

He does, however, make it plain that there is interest. “Before I retire, I’d love to create another Fallout. Although we’ll have to wait and see, I hope that will happen.”
Even though this does not indicate that an Obisidian Fallout is currently in development, this is still perhaps the most encouraging information we have heard in a long about such a project. It’s obvious that Urquhart has passion on his side, which suggests that the company has plans for a New Vegas sequel in the works.
Even better, as many of you are already aware, Bethesda and Obsidian are now under the Microsoft umbrella, increasing the likelihood of collaboration. In fact, both businesses joined forces to commemorate Fallout’s 25th anniversary last year, looking back on the creation of New Vegas.

New Vegas 2 is a typical request when Obsidian suggests working on another Fallout game, although it’s unlikely that we’d see something like that. The original Fallout team focused on developing original locations and themes for each game they created. For instance, the first Fallout game’s world was mainly undeveloped and secluded. Following that, in Fallout 2, we witness powerful civilizations rise again and attempt to unite the Wasteland under a single rule. Moving on to New Vegas, we learn about common people trapped between warring factions in the Nevada desert while they all cling to an imaginary past. Who knows how a sequel to Obsidian Fallout would look?
We’re going to have to wait even if the New Vegas team plays again. We’ll probably have to wait until at the very least Avowed and The Outer Worlds 2 finish production because, as Urquhart notes, the studio already has a lot of significant titles in development.
