In the now-classic science fiction comedy Ghostbusters starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Sigourney Weaver, Herrin played the Dream Ghost, which became her most well-known role. In Herrin’s scene, Aykroyd’s character Ray Stantz awakens in the team’s office to find Herrin transformed into a stunning ghost who is hanging above him wearing a flowing dress.
The ghost then releases Ray’s pants zipper and belt, but a quick cut to another shot reveals that Ray is actually only enjoying an exciting dream. Later, Herrin said that Aykroyd had approached her and he had wanted to date her after filming him but she had told him they were only friends.
After Ghostbusters, Herrin continued to play small roles in films like St. Elsewhere, a hospital comedy-drama starring a young Denzel Washington. She also portrayed Queen in the comedy Moving Violations, appeared in Beverly Hills Cop II as a Playboy Playmate, and as a party girl in the action movie Road House starring Patrick Swayze.
