Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot Are Out DCU Plan Backlash – Plans for the future of the DC Universe have become a little clearer as James Gunn and Peter Safran take the helm at DC Studios. And some of those ideas haven’t been received well — a “period of turbulence” Gunn expected going in.

The DCU shakeups have generated a lot of fan talk and significant reports about the casting of upcoming superheroes, so the rumour mill is in full swing. DC Studios co-chairman and CEO James Gunn is busy trying to dispel certain rumours while confirming (or teasing) others as new leadership explains plans for the next phase of DC film projects.
Some of Gunn and Safran’s ideas haven’t always been well received, but they were aware of “a certain minority of people online” that could be “uproarious & unkind”.

Despite the fact that some people may vent their annoyance in more degrading ways, Gunn clarified how their decisions are made sincerely. His entire Twitter thread is as follows:
“One of the things Peter & I were aware of when we took the job as heads of DC Studios was a certain minority of people online that could be, well, uproarious & unkind, to say the least.
Our choices for the DCU are based upon what we believe is best for the story & best for the DC characters who have been around for nearly 85 years. Perhaps these choices are great, perhaps not, but they are made with sincere hearts & integrity & always with the story in mind.
No one loves to be harassed or called names – but, to be frank, we’ve been through significantly worse. Disrespectful outcry will never, ever affect our actions.
We were aware there would be a period of turbulence when we took this gig, & we knew we would sometimes have to make difficult & not-so-obvious choices, especially in the wake of the fractious nature of what came before us.
But this means little to us in comparison to our jobs as artists & custodians in helping to create a wide & wonderful future for DC.”
The conclusion of filmmaker Patty Jenkin’s Wonder Woman 3 with Gal Gado and Henry Cavill’s follow-up as Superman in Man of Steel 2 are two of the largest changes to the DC Universe so far. Because Cavill had only recently confirmed his return to the DC Universe a few weeks prior, the timing of reports of his leaving gave some fans whiplash.
The Hollywood Reporter’s Wonder Woman exclusive broke the story about the Synderverse, along with a speculation about Jason Momoa’s Aquaman’s possible demise. Gunn responded to the story with a lengthy response, writing, “Part of it is accurate, some of it is half-true, some of it is not true, and some of it we haven’t decided whether it’s real or not.”
Regardless of whether the rumours circulating throughout the DC Universe are accurate or false, Gunn was willing to provide some clarification in the wake of today’s Twitter conversation. When one user asked about plans to recast all of the main DCU, Gunn called it a “untrue theory,” and said they weren’t “recasting everyone except The Suicide Squad.”
who knows if its true, but recasting all the main DCEU characters, but keeping some. Will be interesting how Peacemaker and SS characters/actors live on, but the others dont? Particularly when they have all intereacted together.

MARVEL’S MIDNIGHT SUNS: HOW TO SOLVE THE OLD MIDNIGHT SUNS MYSTERY
Fans of the DCU may anticipate more significant announcements as we anticipate a universe run by new leaders. Shortly after veteran producer Walter Hamada’s retirement in October, Gunn and Safran were appointed co-CEOs of DC Studios. Gunn claims that his and Safran’s long-term strategy for the DCU’s future is already finished and that he will have more information to provide in the coming year.
