A new level for Halo Infinite, made in Forge and based on Valkyrie from Halo 3, has just been released, according to Reddit user Daomum. This is a complete release of the map, which may presently be downloaded via the website Halo Waypoint.
“Valkyrie is a remake of Halo 3’s Valhalla made by Daomum,” the official description reads. “Supports all 343 Arena game modes as well as Big Team Battle and Capture the Flag. For ig Team Battle, recommend a 16 player limit.”
Despite the remake’s recent release, it already has a few hundred ratings and thousands of bookmarks on Halo Waypoint. The response on Reddit has also been overwhelmingly positive, with users of the well-known social media site writing a range of friendly remarks, most of which praised the work’s professionalism.
“Swipe, swipe, swipe. I wonder when I’ll get to the remake… oh, this is the remake, holy shit, nicely done,” the user known as DoddsMcFodds for example remarked. “Damn, I thought this was Halo 3 at first,” the user called Kalaid0s added. “Great job!”
“This looks like the best one yet! Good job with the waterfall. I had in mind to make a snow version to get around the water issue,” the user going by Cautious-Assist 4331 described. “Would be cool! I heard Valhalla was originally planned to be a snow map which is how we ended up with snowy peaks above a green canyon,” Daomum replied.
On September 25, 2007, Halo 3 was launched to resounding praise from critics and players alike, earning an amazing 94 out of 100 on the review aggregator Metacritic. The multiplayer map Valkyrie soon gained popularity and became one of the most well-remembered by players. Developer 343 Industries released Halo Infinite on December 8, 2021, to a similarly enthusiastic response, garnering multiple awards and other recognition.
