Chapter 4 Map Overview And POIs For Fortnite – After a brief chapter 3, Fortnite Chapter 4 has begun. Without too many problems, the live event went off, and everyone flocked to the servers to reminisce about earlier chapters while partaking in goofy mini-games. We all appeared to be participating in the creation of the new map for Chapter 4 as we hopped between tiny islands while bouncing about in the event. Now that it has arrived, we have started visiting all of the new Points of Interest (POIs).
The Chapter 4 map has a distinct aesthetic, mixing conventional Fortnite themes like factories, entertainment hubs, and scientific outposts with mediaeval villages and fortifications. The landmarks in between each POI, which include shacks, mansions, and monolith-like constructions, complete a more lived-in map while each POI is quite distinctive and offers new gaming chances.
The land is divided into geographical regions, as is the case with all Fortnite maps. There is always a snowy, icy terrain, but this time the arctic chill makes it difficult for you to move. You’ll slip when sprinting in the icy places, so take care while you’re fighting.
Farmland, seaside POIs, and woodland regions are present. Unusually, there are no desert regions this time around. Instead, Epic Games chose more rural landscape, which supports the season’s faux-medieval theme.
It’s important to note that this map appears to be the first in a while in which water isn’t a major feature.
There are still rivers and the occasional lake, as you can see from our map image, but there isn’t the same centrally located enormous lake that we’ve seen so frequently before. This is because dirt motorcycles have been introduced, which make land travel much quicker and more manoeuvrable than cars.
Lonely Labs
In the polar region of the map is a scientific outpost called Lonely Labs. Despite the outpost buildings, it has a bare and lonely feeling. The structures contain hiding places inside and out, including many small rooms where occupants may hunker down or simply complain.
Although it doesn’t have the most visually appealing POIs, when the storm circle finishes here, it turns into a bloody battlefield where players on roofs may shoot at adversaries who are sliding about on the ice.
As this brutalist building protrudes out of the snow like a frostbitten sore thumb, it appears that Brutal Bastion was named for its distinctive architectural style. There are protruding stairs and vast hallways throughout this fortress.
Players run from building to building or use zip wires to circle each other as they fight in close quarters in this region. This area has a strong sense of lore and is ready for future flavour text because of the several enormous, towering statues that dot the landscape. It currently serves as a built-up playground for shoot-em-up games.
Slappy Shores
It appears that Slap is the drink of preference in this new era of Fortnite. When you ingest slap juice, you have more energy for sprinting and mantling. Although Slurp is still present throughout the map, Slap has its headquarters here, with their production facility located in the heart of Slappy Shores.
The run-down suburbs that surround this facility may be a hint that Slap is a product that is about to be replaced by Slurp. Expect brawls in the huge outbuildings and the congested, tagging-adorned streets. Consider Pleasant Park with an industrial flair.
Faulty Splits
The Chapter 4 map’s Faulty Splits POI might be the oddest one. As implied by the name, it is a region that is divided in half, with a modern bowling alley and diner on one side and a mediaeval town on the other.
The two sections are connected by a zip-line that runs from high terrain to low, providing some fantastic opportunities for sniping or long-range SCAR shooting. Due to its open layout, the bowling alley’s interior can turn into a full-scale fight. Backrooms and passageways, however, are where you’ll find the chests and floor loot.
Somewhere, there is always farming. Similar to its namesake Frenzy Farms, Frenzy Fields has an energetic vibe. Surrounded by some open fields and other fields with tall crops, there are substantial sheds and barns with multiple floors within.
Small hillocks dot the landscape, breaking the line of sight and offering fantastic cover chances. Frenzy can provide a lot of amazing firefights or a spot to rest up during a rotation because there are so many haystacks to jump into.
Shattered Slabs
A great mess for firefights is Shattered Slabs. There is protection for days thanks to the enormous rock cubes and shelves that have been carved out of the quarry where the stone has been removed. High ground surrounds the core region, where the rock has been hollowed out, on all sides.
A few structures offer refuge, but other than those, the area is an upward maze that resembles a box combat without the buildings. You must continuously be aware of your surroundings because it might be difficult to listen out for oncoming opponents because they can pretty much attack you from any direction.
Anvil Square
A modest castle is surrounded by a charming settlement called Anvil Square. This location has a lot of high ground, notably from the clocktower-style edifice across from the multi-level fortress, similar to Shattered Slabs.
Being the closest POI to the map’s centre, it can get extremely crowded as players try to drop in, loot, and then move toward the circle. The castle itself is a wonderful structure to hold as a team because it has high slit windows that may be used for firing while offering respectable cover. You snipe at The Citadel in the middle of the map from the ramparts at the top.
The Citadel
The Citadel, which is also situated atop a sizable hill on the map, is home to another sizable castle. Once inside The Citadel, which is surrounded by a lake and moat, it can be challenging to leave without a launch pad or one of the adjacent zip lines.
There are many choke points in this area, including the bridges that leave the main castle and both entrance routes. Don’t be deceived by the building’s appearance; although appearing to hold only a few storeys, it sprawls into the hill on which it is situated. Even though the vast throne room is rarely used, it frequently contains the new Oathbound chests, which contain uncommon items.
It appears as though Overwatch has been lured into this beachfront region. Along with the usual wooden-beamed structures, there are also hovering trolleys transporting massive stones from Shattered Slabs. It’s an odd fusion of traditional architecture and contemporary concepts.
Due to its location exactly on the border of the northwest, with just forested fields surrounding it, it receives little foot traffic as a POI unless the circle is close by. Breakwater Bay is as desolate in person as it appears to be on the map because there aren’t many structures there. If the bus doesn’t start overhead, you probably won’t come around very often.
