Standing Hair Raid + Hair Spray (AoE)
Following her Savage Barbery attack, Barbariccia will perform a Standing or Kneeling Hair Raid, forcing you to react quickly and almost immediately. Both attacks have two variants, Hair Spray (Raid-wide AoE Markers) and Deadly Twist (Stack Markers on Healers), which are resolved in completely different ways.
If she uses her Standing Hair Raid + Hair Spray attack, everyone will see an AoE Marker above their heads, indicating that you must move to your Clock Positions. You must first wait for her to execute a wide slash that creates a Donut AoE before you can quickly move to your respective Clock Position to finish the technique.
Standing Hair Raid + Deadly Twist (Stack)
However, if the combination is Standing Hair Raid + Deadly Twist, Barbariccia will put a stack marker on each of your healers and divide you into your pre-assigned Light Parties, standing on either side of her in accordance with your chosen squad. In order to minimise confusion, Group 1 will normally take the side that faces west while Group 2 will select the side that faces east. The mechanism will be cleared when you take the Stack, and she will then launch her subsequent attack.
The fact that Barbariccia stands up after she throws her sword and then immediately follows it with a Donut AoE, which causes the Stack or AoE Markers to appear, telegraphs both Standing Hair Raid + Hair Spray and Deadly Twist.
Kneeling Hair Raid + Hair Spray (AoE)
Similar to the Standing Hair Raid in that it has two possible outcomes, the Kneeling Hair Raid requires you to be vigilant if you receive it. In this variation, Barbariccia kneels after throwing her sword, giving you advance notice that she is about to pounce with it and launch a powerful cone-shaped assault in front of her. You will be compelled by this to divide into your Light Parties and take up positions to her left and right.
Everyone will need to line up in their own groups to her left and right, gripping the wall, if you receive Kneeling Hair Raid + Hair Spray. You need to quickly adjust your positions once she makes her slash in order to prevent overlapping AoE Markers. Since the tanks will pull aggro and everyone else will spread out along the wall to deal with this mechanism, we advise melee DPS to move to the front of the boss.
Kneeling Hair Raid + Deadly Twist (Stack)
The simpler of the two mechanics, Kneeling Hair Raid + Deadly Twist, requires you to partner up into Light Parties, hug the walls to the left and right of the sword, and take damage as a group. It is comforting and much safer to not have to change positions right away when Barbariccia delivers her cleave.
Following the first Hair Raid, Barbariccia will immediately begin a second Savage Barbery, which chains into a third Hair Raid. She always performs the reverse of what she did the previous time. For example, if she performed a Kneeling Hair Raid + Deadly Twist the last time, she would now conduct a Standing Hair Raid + Hair Spray.
Barbariccia will perform a raid-wide Void Aero IV after the second round of Savage Barbery and Hair Raid. This is followed immediately after by her Tank Buster attack, Void Aero III, which inflicts a severe Damage Over Time debuff on anybody it strikes. Deal with Void Aero IV as you did the first time, then for Void Aero III, use Invuln and a Tank Swap. She will then begin Teasing Tangles from this point.
When Barbariccia uses her hair to cast Teasing Tangles, she will produce four cone-shaped pillars that will draw two players into a large area of effect (AoE) that surrounds the cones, forming four groups of two. To survive this section, you must move much more slowly than usual and pay close attention to a number of factors. First, avoid touching the sides of the barrier at all times because doing so will instantly return you to the cone of hair in the centre of the circle.
Then, some players will have a huge Red AoE Marker above their heads, others will have a Blue Enumeration AoE Marker above their heads, and some players won’t have anything above their heads at all. In order to prevent the Red AoE Marked players from damaging other players, the objective is to group the Blue Enumeration Markers and Markerless individuals from another circle.
Players should always go in the direction of the 1 and 3 Waymarks if they have the Blue Enumeration Markers and no other markers. To resolve the issue, get as near to the barrier as you can without touching it. Doing so will cause the Markerless player to be eclipsed by the Enumeration AoE. Additionally, if you have a Red AoE Marker, you should go to the 2 and 4 Waymarks and try to position yourself so that you don’t clip the player next to you who also has a Red AoE Marker.
Barbariccia will perform Secret Breeze, a conal AoE that covers all cardinal directions, just after this mechanism is finished. In order to prevent clipping, players with a Blue Enumeration Mark but no Mark should approach their respective cone slightly. Unless they were out of place or would be overlapping, those who have the red AoE marker should be good to remain where they are. She will launch another Void Aero IV when this attack is finished, which will initiate Phase 2.
Storm’s Crown Extreme: Phase 2
It’s now time for Phase 2, which is considerably busier than what we just experienced. She starts things off with her Curling Iron action, which signifies the beginning of her second phase, and then uses Voidstorm to push everyone out from the centre of the arena. While this phase is more frantic and chaotic, it is also the stage where one player’s error can instantly kill another player. The initial attack of Barbariccia’s second phase, Brutal Rush, ties her to all Tanks and Healers before she kicks them quickly and in a random order. Simply remain in your designated Clock Positions and let the mechanic finish her work to get past her. You will perish and drag anyone who is close to you down with you if you are out of place here or stacked on top of one another. Everything will be OK if you just stand in your designated Clock Position.
Boulder Break/Brittle Boulder
Barbariccia will immediately cast Boulder Break after using Brutal Rush, which targets a Tank at random. To reverse the harm and end the mechanism, just pop Invuln. Her Brittle Boulder assault is a little more complicated than that, though, and comes next.
All players will have Red Crystal-like AoE Markers placed above their heads by Brittle Boulder, which can be intimidating as first. As soon as Brutal Rush is through, everyone should congregate in the centre of the arena to deal with these. After that, while you’re still in the middle, take a seat close to your clock position. Barbariccia will cast Tornado Chain, turning the entire arena orange, right after Brittle Boulder expires. An outer ring and an inner circle will exist. Barbariccia will attack the inner circle first, therefore you will need to wait for her to attack on the edge of the arena before quickly moving forward to dodge her outer assaults. She will then put blue enumeration markers above all tanks and healers after that. To deal with this mechanic, melee and ranged DPS players will need to circle around and join forces with one another.
When you complete the Enumeration Mechanic for Tornado Chain, move quickly to your Clock Positions because Barbariccia will perform Brutal Rush once more, targeting all Melee and Ranged DPS players. If everyone is in their proper places, like it was before, this ought to be simple to settle.
Everyone should go to the 1 Waymark after Brutal Rush, which will make this easier to handle and position you well for the following mechanic. Barbariccia will squeeze together before striking the ground 12 times with her knuckle drum to unleash devastating raid-wide damage. Barbariccia will immediately release Blow Away, which is commonly referred to as “Mario Kart” in the game’s Party Finder, after Knuckle Drum. To overcome this mechanic, your team should march in unison clockwise around the arena, luring the AoEs into safe zones. If you followed the previous step, your initial AoE drop should be on the 1 Waymark, your second drop should be close to the A Waymark, your third drop should be on 2, and your final landing should be on B. Together, move, pause for a moment, and then resume moving as soon as your markers fall and the new one appears.
One Healer will obtain a Stack Marker and both Tanks will receive a Flare Marker after that portion of the mechanism has been resolved, denoting the start of their Impact/Bold Boulder attacks, respectively. Place the Tanks on the Ranged DPS Waymarks (1 and 2), and instruct the rest of the team to stack on the healer in the southern end of the arena (C). A blue AoE will be visible surrounding Barbariccia. No matter where you are on the battlefield, this AoE will force you back, so position yourself as near to her as you can without touching the AoE to prevent being driven into the arena’s out-of-bounds area.
Barbariccia will lunge with her Trample attack at the previously marked Healer after Impact/Bold Boulder. Until the tanks can descend to her and regain aggro, mitigate through this. It’s not too difficult to deal with this mechanic. Many people may be caught off guard if she suddenly dives at the Healer because they weren’t prepared for it. She will then unleash another Brutal Rush that targets Melee and Ranged DPS players; proceed as you did with the last one.
Teasing Tangles: Part 2
Another round of Teasing Tangles makes up Phase 2’s last leg, but this time, the dynamics are very different and frantic. By directing all DPS players to the right of their respective circles once they are drawn into their hair cones and all Tanks and Healers to the left, Barbariccia’s second iteration of this move may be easily stopped. Everyone will be able to have an enumeration pair to handle the mechanic thanks to this.
There is one catch, though. In addition to teaming up with an Enumeration AoE, you will also need to avoid Barbariccia’s swirly AoEs and approaching mini-twisters while attempting to maintain contact with your pairing partner in the opposite circle. This section can be challenging to get down because it is so chaotic. The best piece of advice we can give you in this situation is to take your time avoiding the pandemonium in front of you and then enter the Enumeration AoE as soon as you see a clear way.
Barbariccia will do another Knuckle Drum after this mechanism has been handled before entering her third phase. Handle this the same way you handled the previous situation; assemble at the 1 Waymark and deftly minimise your way through the incoming barrage.
Storm’s Crown Extreme: Phase 3
Phase 3 is by no means a stroll in the park, but Phase 2 is unquestionably the most difficult phase of this encounter. The fact that there is just one new mechanic introduced here, making the rest material you have already seen and understood, does assist. Having stated that, let’s get started!
Barbariccia doesn’t waste any time in introducing her brand-new mechanic, Entanglement, which you may have heard referred to as “PlayStation” in Party Finder due to the symbols resembling those on a PlayStation controller. Color-coded shapes will be displayed above each player’s head as part of this mechanism, and your job will be to match them up. Here’s a quick method for doing that:
- Circle = 1 Waymark (Red)
- Triangle = 2 Waymark (Green)
- X = 3 Waymark (Blue)
- Square = 4 Waymark (Pink)
Basically, match the hue of the intercardinal direction to the shape you have above your head. Move to the colour that matches your shape as soon as you notice it; if your buddy does the same, you should be successful. Additionally, you can send all of the DPS players in their intercardinal direction and have the Tanks and Healers line up with them. However, this might add some extra pandemonium as everyone scrambles to position themselves, especially if two DPSs have the same form.
Once the shapes are matched, you will be bound by hair to your paired partner, which will slow you down and make it impossible for you to separate from one another. You will have to avoid two incoming strikes in this section. The first is a cone assault that requires you and your partner to position oneself just inside of the safe spaces to resolve, and the second is a line attack that comes next and impacts every player. As soon as you are released from the cone assault, move to avoid being in the way of her follow-up attack, which will end this mechanic.
After that, Barbariccia will revert to her previous behaviour and repeat Savage Barbery, Hair Raid, Void Aero IV, and Void Aero III. The same mechanics that you used earlier apply to resolving these ones. After that is finished, another wave of Entanglement will begin, but with a difference. Joy!
Entanglement: Part 2
Entanglement’s second edition is first a little daunting to deal with, but once you understand its basic premise, it’s not that horrible. Just a lot of patience and quick planning are needed. Trust us, it’s far worse on paper than it is in reality. Match the symbols in this section’s first leg to join your companion with a strong hairband by matching them all together. However, after that, things start to alter.
Barbariccia will randomly install enumeration markers above the heads of four players while you are connected to your shape-buddy. You must try to position yourself so that the unmarked players are inside someone’s enumeration circle. Being connected to someone else who may or may not have an Enumeration Marker makes this challenging.
Congregating in the centre of the arena and organising everything by swiftly shifting your position is a common tactic for fast solving this problem. This may appear difficult and disorganised, and that’s exactly how it is. However, there is still plenty of time to arrange everyone and get them organised. Once everyone is seated in the middle and able to see who has what and who needs assistance, everything will fall into place on its own because everyone is on the same page. Just be careful not to go too far from your spouse because doing so will cause you to be jerked back into them, which can cause a lot of problems for different reasons.
After completing this step, Barbariccia will cast another Savage Barbery and Hair Raid before using her dependable Curling Iron ability to enter Phase 4.
Storm’s Crown Extreme: Phase 4
Only one new, albeit nasty, trick is there in Phase 4, and all other issues are ones you are already familiar with how to handle. To help you understand this a little better, we’ve listed everything she says twice below!
- Brutal Rush: Same as previously, tethers to all tanks and healers.
Punches the ground twelve times with the knuckles. Treat it the same way you have in the past.
- Blow Away: Make circles as you did before, going clockwise.
- Bait the Rock AoE, then fan out to your Clock Positions to perform a Boulder Break/Brittle Boulder. the same as before.
- Brutal Rush: Resolves the same as before and tethers to all melee and ranged DPS.
- Impact/Bold Boulder: With an AoE, knocks everyone back while focusing on the tanks and an undetermined healer. Proceed in the same manner as you did before.
- Brutal Rush: Same as previously, tethers to all tanks and healers.
Barbariccia pulls another trick out of her bag after the barrage of old ones and throws the arena into complete disarray. Here, you will have to avoid everything that is thrown at you, including little twisters and constantly shifting swirly AoEs that are placed on the ground. In essence, this battle will throw every AoE you have ever faced at you at once. There is too much going on at once for it to fit in a single image, but we do wish we could show you an image to help you understand. Simply look for the safe areas, take a seat there, and then move on to the next that becomes available.
A second Impact/Bold Boulder will follow the spectacular dodge, marking every Tank with a Flare and a random Healer with a Stack Marker. The next stage will begin once you resolve this in the same manner as before.
Storm’s Crown Extreme: Phase 5
We have reached the end of the process, which is beneficial because it consists of challenges you have already overcome several times. Like previously, we’ll list them to make it simpler for you to skim this part and understand what’s expected of you.
