Bringing the Classic ‘Fallout 2’ to Life: New Mod Adds Voice-Acted Dialogue to 100+ Talking Heads – Even though Fallout 2: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game was released about 25 years ago, it continues to be a beloved classic. The isometric RPG has been given new life by mods, which have altered the perspective and transformed the game into an FPS.
Currently, a new mod aims to increase the number of in-game “talking heads” (via PCGamesN). 13 talking heads, close-ups of characters with moving mouths, and voice acting for certain NPCs were all present in the original game. The amount of talking heads in the first Fallout and Fallout 2 was constrained and underwhelming compared to initial expectations because the heads were modelled after pre-made clay models and cost a lot of time to build.
Over 100 unique talking heads were introduced to Fallout 2 by modder Goat Boy’s “Talking Heads Addon” mod last year. A current initiative seeks to give each of these talking heads voice-acted lines.

The project was created by Black Electric, who has already voice-acted over 600 lines of dialogue for 17 of the additional talking heads. Since the mod is still in Alpha release and is available for download on Nexus Mods, not all integrated voices have been perfected or thoroughly tested. However, the Black Electric wants to cast more talented actors.
The authors explain, “This mod is still in its early stages, and we are looking for outstanding volunteer voice actors that are interested in working on the project. We are still looking for casting for much over 100 characters. Those that are interested might browse the modder’s posted character list.
