It would be nice to join the MCU, but what about working as a filmmaker for the DCU for a while? James Gunn and Peter Safran are hoping that he will take the helm of a future DC Studios film.
“Met with Ben yesterday precisely because he wants to direct & we want him to direct; we just have to find the right project,” Gunn revealed on Twitter in mid-December.
The tweet drew criticism from DC Universe fans who questioned Ben Affleck’s willingness to direct a film when there was a risk that it would “be cancelled as a tax write off or the production be an absolute misery.”
