Blizzard Dev Confirms Plans to Address Rewards Earned by Free Players in Overwatch 2 -Even though Overwatch 2 is packed with skins and other collectibles, playing for free makes little sense. Currently, Overwatch’s coin generation and challenge completion rates are so slow that you might as well give up. Furthermore, you will seldom ever receive anything meaningful from the free Battle Pass. We’re still all utilising the standard Kirko skin, for reals. This is agony.

Thankfully, it appears that might soon change. A Blizzard developer has acknowledged that the studio is exploring into measures to rectify how free players get incentives, as reported by news outlet Overwatch Cavalry. The developer claims they want to address the “lack of choice” in incentives, perhaps by adding other ways to earn in-game currency.
“We have some updates coming in [season 3] that we’ll be talking about soon to help address the lack of choice in rewards,” says Overwatch 2 executive producer, Jared Neuss. “I’ll keep it vague for now.”

IS MODERN WARFARE 2’S TARAQ MAP HAUNTED? A VIDEO SUGGESTS SO
This is quite ambiguous, as Jared himself states. The language does, however, imply that Blizzard is considering diversifying the means by which we can obtain prizes. This would be very logical considering that the free Battle Pass currently only has a small selection of content available to those of us who don’t want to spend real money. Weekly challenges are another way to earn in-game gold, but many of us still don’t have enough for even one legendary skin, so they are scarcely worth the trouble.
In fact, the situation is so bad that occasionally the easiest way to earn cash is to avoid playing Overwatch. Some fans had resorted to earning money in World of Warcraft and then exchanging it for Overwatch coins, as we’ve previously reported. Others had begun farming coins via the Microsoft Rewards programme, which, in case you’re interested, has a function that works across all platforms.
