Batman’s Sidekicks Lantern Colors Aren’t What Fans Will Expect.
Fans are surprised by the Lantern colours of Batman’s numerous sidekicks, including Robin and Batgirl. Numerous characters, ranging from the Flash to Supergirl, have used various Lantern rings since the Emotional Spectrum was first introduced during Geoff Johns’ illustrious Green Lantern run. In 2011’s Batgirl #24, a quick vision reveals which Lantern Corps Stephanie Brown, Robin, and Batgirl will be a part of—and they are not at all what fans had anticipated.

Batman’s Sidekicks: One of the fundamental forces in the DC Universe is the emotional spectrum. It mirrors the traditional colour wheel, where each hue stands for a distinct emotion. For instance, green denotes willpower, red signifies passion and anger, and blue denotes hope. The Blackest Night storyline in 2009, which saw some of DC’s biggest stars, including the Flash, Lex Luthor, and Wonder Woman, obtain Lantern rings and be deputised into different Corps, marked the culmination of the story of the multicoloured Lantern Corps.
Since then, the subject of which superhero or villain belongs in which Lantern Corps and why has been a hot topic of discussion among fans, and in Batgirl #24, DC provides an answer for some members of the Bat-Family.
The issue’s finale involves then-Batgirl Stephanie Brown seeing brief visions of herself in various settings and circumstances. In one of these, Barbara Gordon and Robin (Damian Wayne) have joined another Lantern Corps. The issue was written by Bryan Q. Miller and illustrated by Père Perez. Batgirl has the power of the Blue Lanterns, replete with a shining blue staff, while Robin is a rage-filled Red Lantern. Barbara uses a Green Lantern ring to create a massive mech suit, with her serving as the pilot.

Batman’s Sidekicks , Stephanie’s vision of herself and her friends as various Lanterns was never followed up on, leaving it just as a tantalising glimpse of what might have been; nonetheless, the Corps they ended up in might come as a surprise. The least unexpected Red Lantern might be Damian Wayne because, at this point in his career, he was still in “kill-mode” and still under the spell of the League of Shadows.

Damian was driven by fury; it was all he knew as a child, so it should not be shocking that he is a Red Lantern. Since Batgirl #24 was released one month before the New 52 reboot, Barbara Gordon was still the information broker Oracle, the persona she adopted after being shot by the Joker. Barbara Gordon may appear to be more of a lock for the Blue Lanterns, but she is actually a Green Lantern. Barbara recovered and transformed what might have been a tragedy into a victory—a testament to her strength of character, if ever there was one.
Stephanie Brown, who has joined the inspiring Blue Lantern Corps, is the last person mentioned. Under Barbara Gordon’s guidance, Stephanie gained an understanding of what it took to be a real hero throughout her time as Batgirl. Stephanie became a natural Blue Lantern as a result of her renewed hope and confidence.
While Stephanie’s vision of herself as a Blue Lantern was but that—a vision—it spoke to the natures of Robin and Barbara Gordon in addition to Stephanie’s. The Lantern colours of these Batman sidekicks make complete sense, even though Batgirl as a Blue Lantern or Robin as a Red Lantern may initially look a little odd.
