Adriana Twitch Foam Pit Video: Twitch Streamer Adriana Chechik breaks her back in two places after an accident in the foam pit at TwitchCon

Details have emerged that indicate the foam pit was the result of a collaboration between Intel and Levono rather than a Twitch-sponsored event. It is unclear whether or not the injured persons will receive compensation. Before entering the foam pit, participants were required to sign a waiver acknowledging the possibility of injury or damage to property. On the day of the incident, the foam pit was closed at noon.

During the ongoing TwitchCon being held in San Diego, California, popular content creator Adriana Chechik broke her back in two places after falling into a foam pit. Video of the incident shows the streamer falling backwards before crying out in pain and seeking medical attention. Chechik later stated that she had surgery that included the installation of a meter rod.

“Well, I broke my back in two places and am getting surgery to put a meter rod in for support today. Send your support,” Chechik posted early this morning on Twitter. “When it rains it pours and I am definitely feeling the rain right now.”

It appears that Chechik is not the only person who has been injured in the foam pit. Several streamers have since reported injuries, most of which were minor. For example, EdyBot, a streamer known as EdyBot, jumped into the foam pit before Chechik.

“I’m the other girl in the video and a friend of Adriana. She would love to hear from other people who were injured in the same pit,” EdyBot said on Twitter in a remark suggesting the possibility of legal action. “Please message me if you know anyone else who got hurt! I fell very lightly and still felt a jolt up my back and had pain for the rest of the night.”

Social media has already been abuzz with the news of the incident. “How do you respond to this other than with a lawyer and the expectation of a million plus,” the user on Reddit going by the name of Annonyymmouss wondered. “A meter fucking rod in your back, dude.” The vast majority of commentators are clearly incensed.

The reception on Resetera has been equally negative as that on Reddit. “Even if her medical bills are fully compensated and then some, I’m not sure if money can even make this totally right. Serious back injuries are often life altering,” the user called Sandcrawler noted. “How is nearly everything Twitch touches still consistently run like a total clown show?”
