Players follow a more mature Kratos as he deals with the challenges of fatherhood with his kid while striving to commemorate his late wife in God of War for the PlayStation 4, ushering in a new era for the God of War franchise. One devoted player made the decision to name their unborn kid after the game in honour of their shared passion for it. Reddit user dejacute published a picture of a hand-painted sign with the words “Atreus” over it. For reasons of privacy, some of the image has been obscured, but hand-painted pine trees and placeholders for the date, time, weight, and height of the kid are still visible. Kratos, a significant character in the Norse tale, particularly God of War Ragnarok, has a son named Atreus.
In the comments, other fans expressed their enthusiasm for the fervent supporter. One of the comments suggested that the parent call him “boy” until he is a teenager before addressing him by his own name, like Kratos frequently does with Atreus. Another commenter said the baby child’s first name will be “whatever,” alluding to unpleasant Atreus moments. Other fans were harsher with the parent, saying that their child shouldn’t be coerced into joining their fandom.

The parent’s decision to name their children after their favourite characters raises the question of whether it is appropriate to impose their fandom on their offspring.
