Kristin Lund of Norway became head a UN Peacekeeping Force

On 12th May 2014 the general Kristin Lund of Norway became first woman ever to head a UN Peacekeeping Force.Kristin Lund of Norway  is became the first woman in the history of United Nations at Cyprus (UNFICYP) on 50th Anniversary.



The Kristin Lund of Norway will succeeded the Major General Chao Liu of China who will retire on 13th August 2014 and take her charge on the same day called 13th August 2014.Major general Kristin Lund work on some assignment like Service with the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) ,Service with the UN Protection Force (UNPROFOR).Some multi national projects like
Deployment to Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Storm in 1991 ,NATO’s International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) Headquarters in Afghanistan.

UN peacekeeping Force is basically work on three principles

• Consent of the parties
• Impartiality
• Non-use of force except in self-defence and defence of the mandate
